Abstract

Orbital cellulitis is defined by an acute infection of the orbital contents that most commonly affects children. We report two clinical cases of orbital cellulitis in two children, 8 and 11 years old, respectively, who had orbital cellulitis secondary to untreated bacterial conjunctivitis. In both cases: The orbital computed tomography had revealed diffuse orbital cellulitis and the bacteriological analysis of the sample had revealed staphylococcus aureus. Treatment included local and oral antibiotic therapy. The evolution was favorable after 7 days of treatment with complete absorption of cellulite. Orbital cellulitis is an uncommon condition. Its evolution is always serious in the absence of treatment.
